How to Start and Maintain and Repair Business Credit

This workshop is designed to provide start-up entrepreneurs and seasoned business owners alike with a step-by-step guide to establishing your personal & business credit profile and building business credit.

 

Key Learning Objectives of the Workshop:

 

1. Introduce participants to the key facts, terms and concepts critical to understanding credit, how it works and how to get it;

 

2. Introduce participants to the personal & business credit bureaus and how they gather information;

 

3. Teach participants how to repair and maintain their credit to maximize their chances of securing personal & business credit;

 

This program is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration and through a grant from the Economic Development Administration administered by the Mid-America Regional Council and hosted by The Toolbox.

Accounting FUNdamentals

Congratulations you’ve launched your business! Now it’s time to put systems in place to track your sales and expenses to ensure you’re profitable. But, where do you start? What expenses can you deduct? How much taxes will you have to pay?

 

Whether you've been in business for a while or just recently started your entrepreneurship journey, managing your finances is essential in sustaining and growing your business. This workshop will take the stress out of understanding your finances and break it down into simple concepts and steps that anyone can understand and put into place!

 

This workshop will focus on:

 

- Fundamental accounting and bookkeeping processes

 

- Understand What Expenses You Need to Track

 

- How to Track and Store Your Expenses

 

- How to Establish a Bookkeeping System

 

- Understand Your Tax Obligations (sales tax, self-employment tax, income tax, etc)
